Fundació Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (FUAB) was constituted at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona to collaborate with the university in the development and implementation of teaching projects to complement its academic offer, to promote new management systems in collaboration with a wide range of institutions and companies, to render services related to the university and to lead academic, research, assessment, consultancy and service projects.

The FUAB has also been entrusted the task of setting the operation strategic lines for all its educational institutions, services and buildings that make up the corporation, as well as the management and leadership of the projects they promote.

In order to fulfil this variety of functions, the UAB and FUAB have constituted a series of foundations, companies and consortiums that make up a veritable corporation.

In the educational field, the institutions belonging to FUAB corporation are Escola Superior d’Arxivística i Gestió de Documents (ESAGED), Escola de Prevenció i Seguretat Integral (EPSI), Escola Universitaria de Turisme i Direcció Hotelera (EUTDH) and UAB Idiomes Barcelona.

Fundació UAB also encourages institutions that promote research, consultancy and training projects, as for example Fundació Biblioteca Josep Laporte and Fundació Institut Català de l’Envelliment (FICE).

With regard to services, FUAB is constituted by Agència de Promoció d’Activitats i de Congressos, Centre de Serveis Plaça Cívica, Restauració Universitària, Hotel Campus S.L, Vila Universitària and Futurfirms S.L, which aims to promote firms carrying out technology and innovation projects.

FUAB’s main offices are located at Casa Convalescència, a modernist building in the grounds of Sant Pau i Santa Creu Hospital, in the centre of Barcelona. Casa Convalescència building also hosts several activities and events, especially continuous training courses related to health and life sciences.
